Tommy began his professional career in the waste industry where he eventually became a partner in a waste company with his father and two brothers. At that time, they were the largest residential contractor for the City of Nashville and one of the fastest growing commercial contractors to individual businesses. They eventually sold the business to a national company which led Tommy to move from “trash to cash” (waste to armored car) where he relocated multiple times to underperforming areas to turn around the overall performance of those facilities.

Tommy has been leading various logistics companies for over 35 years where he had total P&L responsibility. He has been responsible for as many as 18 facilities in 12 states with 750 employees, which ranged from as few as 2 routes to well over 50 routes. All of the routes during this time have been considered local. Over the years, Tommy has helped these areas with revenue growth, improved profit margins and reduced turnover. He has developed and led leadership training with those companies, as well as led various teams to other countries to solve operational problems. Tommy was a leader of a CEO Roundtable Group for the Nashville Chamber and has also obtained certifications for coaching and speaking with John Maxwell.

Tommy resides in the Nashville area with his wife of 41 years. He has 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Although a native of Tennessee, he lived in seven different cities as he was building his career. In his spare time, he is an active member at his church, and he enjoys spending time with his family and doing anything outdoors.
